Building Permit Information
It is imperative that you have met the setback requirements stated on your drawing. Measure from property line. Edge of streets are not property lines. The setbacks are: 25’ for the front of the dwelling, and 5’ from interior lot lines, rear lot line, and 10’from a side street. If the setbacks can’t be met, a variance will have to be requested. The drawing on the permit does not have to be to scale, but the more information provided will make it easier for the Land Use Planning Commission to make their decision on approval. It is not up to the City to know where your property lines are, but we will be more than happy to come and check your setbacks if there are any questions.
If you hire a contractor to do the work for you, they must purchase a contractor’s license. If there is more than one contractor, they all must acquire a contractor’s license.
